During the ceremony, Minister Flavien Joubert delivered a speech, highlighting the importance of the new facilities. Reflecting on the theme, Minister Joubert shared the importance of all people having access to affordable and diverse food. The unveiling of the commemorative plaque was jointly conducted by Minister Flavien Joubert and the elected member of the National Assembly for Anse Boileau, Honorable Phillip Arissol.
In a cultural display, students from Anse Boileau Primary performed a traditional dance, showcasing the local Creole heritage. Additionally, a student from Anse Boileau Secondary School presented a poem reflecting the World Food Day theme. Expressing appreciation for the new market’s potential to offer improved avenues for their products, Mrs. Claire Barra on behalf of all farmers in the community conveyed their gratitude.
