On Tuesday, September 24th, Minister responsible for Environment, Minister Flavien Joubert paid a visit to the new office of the Landscape and Waste Management Agency (LWMA), located at the KB Emporium on the second floor, Providence.
The tour was led by the Chief Executive Officer of LWMA, Mr. Shane Emilie, accompanied by the Senior Communication Officer, Ms. Lynn Betsy. Minister Joubert had the opportunity to meet and interact with the agency’s staff, including the newest team members who have recently joined the agency. During this interaction, the Minister took time to introduce himself and engage with the employees, fostering a spirit of collaboration and mutual support.
The staff expressed their enthusiasm for working in the new office, sharing their excitement about the future of LWMA’s operations and the role they will play in enhancing the cleanliness and beauty of the country. Minister Joubert, acknowledging their commitment, shared words of encouragement, particularly addressing the young employees. He highlighted the importance of their work in maintaining Seychelles’ environment and encouraged them to continue being passionate and dedicated.
The tour concluded with a meeting between Minister Joubert and LWMA’s management team. During the meeting, the management shared some of the agency’s key achievements, ongoing challenges, and future plans. The discussion touched on critical areas such as resource constraints, operational challenges, and strategies for the continued improvement of waste management and landscaping services. Minister Joubert reaffirmed his support for the agency’s goals and emphasized the importance of innovation and efficiency in tackling these challenges.
