The Office of the Minister responsible for the Agriculture Department wishes to inform vendors, members of the public, and the media that the relocation of vendors currently occupying the Market Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke to the Ex-STC Supermarket building has been delayed. This delay is necessary to ensure compliance with all safety, health and hygiene requirements and standards, following detailed discussions with the relevant Authorities and stakeholders. The renovation plan for the Ex-STC building is currently being worked on by the Seychelles Infrastructure Agency, which will ensure that the facility meets the required safety standards and provides a conducive environment for our vendors. As a result, the renovation may take longer than initially anticipated.
The Ministry remains committed to working closely with our partners, including the Public Health Authority, Seychelles Fishing Authority (SFA) and the Mayor’s Office to ensure that the new location is suitable for vendors to conduct their daily business. We will keep all stakeholders informed and provide updates as soon as the facility is ready for the relocation.
In the meantime, vendors will continue to operate at the Selwyn Selwyn Clark Market until the Ex-STC building is fully prepared to accommodate them.
