On Friday the 20th of October, Seychelles will celebrate the National Small islands Developing States(SIDS) Day. As part of the celebration, the Ministry of Agriculture, Climate Change & Environment in partnership with the Ministry of Education, will be organizing a SIDS Food Fiesta. All schools have been allocated with a SIDS and they have over the past few months done research on that particular SIDS and on Friday they will showcase dishes from those SIDS using fish, coconut and breadfruit.
It will also be a competition where judges will choose the best 3 SIDS among 28 schools participating. Members of the public will also be able to ask information and taste the different dishes on display.
The event is aimed at raising awareness on geography, economy and culture of SIDS. The event will be held at the Camion hall garden from 9am to 1 pm.
