Sterilization Schedule – January 2024

The Agriculture Department of Seychelles is pleased to announce a collaborative effort with BE KIND to conduct a significant initiative aimed at addressing the issue of stray dogs and cats on the islands of Mahé and Praslin. This vital undertaking, scheduled to take place from 11th to 23rd January 2024, will involve the participation of 8 experienced veterinarians from Russia and some other European countries.

Dr. Svetlana Broussova, a dedicated and integral member of our team, has played a pivotal role in organizing and motivating the veterinary professionals who will be participating in this mass sterilization campaign. Her commitment to animal welfare and expertise in veterinary care have been instrumental in ensuring the success of this initiative.

The primary objective of this collaborative effort is to reduce the population of stray dogs and cats in Seychelles through humane and responsible means. The mass sterilization program is a crucial step toward managing the overpopulation of these animals, thereby improving their overall welfare and addressing concerns related to public health and safety.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Svetlana and all the participating veterinarians for their dedication and commitment to this cause. Their expertise and global perspective bring a wealth of knowledge to our local efforts, enhancing the impact of this initiative.

The Agriculture Department welcomes the support and cooperation of the Seychelles community during this period. We encourage residents to assist in creating a safe and supportive environment for the veterinary team as they work tirelessly to carry out these essential procedures.
